Activity Description
Often, keeping students engaged can be a challenge while teaching remotely. Some methods we use to connect with our students in face-to-face classrooms don't translate well to virtual environments, so students feel disconnected from the instructor and the course content. In this workshop, we will practice a variety of techniques you can use to better connect with students in your online classes (both synchronous and asynchronous). These strategies can lead to higher levels of participation, increased performance, and an overall better experience for students and teachers alike. We will also discuss the critical role compassion has in education and how you can balance it with course expectations.” This workshop is part of No Walls Teaching.
